SAFETY FAMILIARIZATION COURSE

about this course

Before being assigned to shipboard duties, all person employed or engaged on a seagoing ship other than passengers, must attend approved training in Personal Survival Techniques or approved Familiarization training in accordance with STCW Section A-VI/1, paragraph 1 of the STCW Code. The course meets the requirements of the South African Code of Maritime Qualifications and is accredited by SAMSA. The course is held at Grindrod Shipping Training Academy.
The successful candidates will be issued a certificate which will be numbered for reference.
Courses can be held by arrangement for principals to suit crew joining dates.
Candidates are to bring along their ID/Passport on the 1st day of the course.

Requirements

All candidates must be conversant and literate in English.

Additional Information

A minimum of 6 candidates are required and the fee includes notes and sundry materials and a light lunch.
